			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you heard about the terms <strong>Electrosensitivity (ES)</strong> and <strong>Electrohypersensitivity (EHS)</strong>? Unfortunately, these terms may become ubiquitous as more and more people suffer the effects of constantly being exposed to man-made electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency (RF) radiation.</p>
<p>Electromagnetic fields and RF radiation stem from electronic devices such as cell phones, wireless (Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Max) networks, smart meters, computers, household appliances, baby phones, cordless phones, fluorescent lighting, electric blankets, household wiring and power lines, to name a few. Cell phone antennas/towers also emit Radiofrequency (RF) radiation. If you live in a city, chances are high that you have a cell phone antenna as an unwanted neighbor.</p>

<p>The potential that wireless RF radiation can harm human beings has brought the <strong>World Health Organization (WHO)</strong> to recently <strong>classify RF radiation from cell phones as a Class 2B carcinogen</strong>, meaning it is <strong>a possible cancer-causing agent.</strong> This is the same categorization as lead, DDT, pesticides and chloroform.</p>
<p>The human body is not equipped to deal with the 24/7 onslaught of man-made EMF and RF radiation pollution that it is exposed to. Every day new wireless and electronic devices are added to this array of electromagnetic fields. Research has shown that these fields can influence the “Van der Walls” bonds that hold molecules in place causing stress and harm to the body.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="color: #336699; font-size: medium;"><strong>Other effects of EMF/RF Radiation Exposure include:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Abnormal influx of calcium into cells, which can lead to and trigger allergic reactions.</li>
<li>Mitochondria dysfunction. Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cells creating energy. This could explain the common link between fatigue and RF radiation exposure.</li>
<li>Depolarization of red blood cells, causing them to clump together and consequently carrying less oxygen.</li>
<li>Decreased number of Natural Killer Cells (white blood cells), weakening the immune system.</li>
<li>Weakening of the blood-brain barrier, causing toxins to enter the brain more readily.</li>
<li>Decrease of 5-HTP in the blood that can lead to depression</li>
<li>Induction of a stress response with elevated cortisol levels, causing hyperactivity and consequently weakening of the adrenals.</li>
<li>Altered production of Melatonin, causing sleep difficulties.</li>
</ul>

<p>In Sweden, Electrosensitivity and Electrohypersensitivty are recognized diseases. Therefore Sweden has created “cell phone and Wi-Fi free” places where people can go to recover.</p>
<p>Research shows that approximately <strong>3% of the population has severe forms of EHS </strong>and another <strong>35% has moderate symptoms</strong> such as an impaired immune system and chronic illness.</p>
<p>Normally, symptoms occur when exposed to EMF (electromagnetic fields) and EMR (electromagnetic radiation) and subside when moving away from the fields. The problem is that over time the body gets more and more sensitive and symptoms occur when exposed to only small amounts of EMF/EMR.</p>

<p>Since most physicians are not trained in EHS and are not aware of the problem, most likely he/she will not make a connection to EMF/EMR exposure and you will end up with a drug to mask your symptoms.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">What can you do?</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #336699;"><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Most importantly: LIMIT YOUR EXPOSURE</span></strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Limit your cell phone usage to a minimum.</li>
<li>When talking on a cell phone, put it on speaker and hold it away from your head.</li>
<li>Use an air-tube headset when talking.</li>
<li>Turn off your home/office wireless network and use the old fashioned cables.</li>
<li>Ask your neighbors to turn off their wireless networks when they are not using the internet and especially when sleeping.</li>
<li>Remove cordless (DECT) phones in your home. (They emit an enormous amount of RF radiation).</li>
<li>Never carry your cell phone on your body.</li>
<li>Do not give a cell phone to your child (except for emergencies). Kids have thinner skulls and the radiation travels deep inside their brains.</li>
<li>Do not use your cell phone in the car. The car acts as a Farraday cage, trapping the radiation in the car and therefore increasing it.</li>
<li>Turn off the internet connection (3G/4G) on your smart phone (smart phones constantly are emitting RF radiation to search for a signal and to send/receive data).</li>
<li>Do not put your laptop on your lap and try to keep away from your body.</li>
<li>Switch out CFL light bulbs to standard ones – Yes, I am an environmentalist, but health comes first!</li>
<li>Unplug all electric devices in your house when not in use. (Appliances in stand by mode still create an electromagnetic field).</li>
<li>If you are in close proximity to several cell phone antennas &#8211; move to another place.</li>
<li>Remove dimmer switches/electric blankets.</li>
<li>Sleep in an electricity free bedroom.</li>
<li>Sleep on a metal free bed (Metal acts as a conductor).</li>
<li>Do not use a microwave oven.</li>
<li>Switch from electronic alarm clocks to battery powered.</li>
</ul>

<p><span style="color: #336699; font-size: medium;"><strong>DETOXIFY YOUR BODY</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Do a targeted radiation detox (I can help with this)</li>
<li>Remove amalgam fillings in your teeth that contain mercury. Make sure you do this with a green certified dentist.</li>
<li>Detoxify your body from heavy metals. (Any metals in your body will act as a conductor. I can help you with designing a targeted heavy metal detox for you)</li>
<li>Remove all jewelry from your body (they also act as an conductor)</li>
<li>Instead of wearing glasses with a metal frame, wear contact lenses instead.</li>
<li>Take regular Epsom salt baths</li>
<li>Drink lots of clean/filtered water</li>
<li>Sweat as often as possible (Sweating will draw toxins out)</li>
<li>Exercise regularly</li>
<li>Do saunas twice a week. Infrared saunas are best.</li>
<li>Take walks on the beach (negatively charged irons will help you clear your system).</li>
<li>Only use organic cleaning supplies for cleaning your house and clothes (to reduce further toxic burden on the body).</li>
<li>Switch to organic make up.</li>
<li>Use non-fluoridated toothpaste (another toxin to avoid).</li>
</ul>

<p><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong><span style="color: #336699;">OPTIMIZE YOUR NUTRITIONAL INTAKE</span></strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Take a high quality mineral supplement (best taken in liquid form to enhance absorption rate) This will help in keeping your cell membranes strong.</li>
<li>Eat only organic vegetables and fruit</li>
<li>Avoid any processed foods</li>
<li>Do not drink sodas</li>
<li>Take Antioxidants supplements</li>
<li>Load up on B vitamins. They strengthen the nervous system</li>
</ul>
<p>There are also companies out there that claim their products can remove unwanted electromagnetic radiation by using devices that you can plug into the electrical outlet to remove dirty electriticity. Others claim that their pendants will protect you from harm. Personally, I have not tested them and cannot give a recommendation. However, I did want to mention them.</p>
<p>The most important thing to do if you are experiencing electro-sensitivity related symptom, is to limit your exposure and to slowly bring your life into alignment with what your body needs. Our society has treated all of our new electrical gadgets as toys without understanding the consequences to our health. You can begin to shift this understanding.</p>
<p>My intention for this newsletter is to raise awareness on this important issue. Hopefully you feel inspired and motivated to implement some or all of the above suggestions to lead a more healthy and fulfilling life.</p>

<p>From officials we are told that the U.S. will be safe, but since we do not know what will happen in Japan in the coming days and weeks, I think it is better to be prepared than not.</p>
<p>In this issue you will find some good information and resources on how you can protect yourself and your family IF radiation is detected here. Scroll down to find a link of a map that shows you radiation levels in real time.</p>

<p>Right now we don&#8217;t know if the U.S. will be hit with dangerous radiation.</p>
<p>We know that a nuclear meltdown in Japan could happen, and if so, chances are not high that we will get high amounts of radiation here.</p>
<p>But as said earlier, it is better to be prepared.</p>
<p><strong>So here are my recommendations</strong></p>
<p><strong>Potassium Iodide: </strong></p>
<p>Potassium Iodide protects not just the thyroid gland from taking up radioactive Iodine, but also other glands in your body. When taking Iodine in high amounts, it saturates the body and no radioactive Iodine can bind. It is important to know that in case of emergency, Iodine needs to be taken every 24 hours, since it leaves the body within that time.</p>
<p>The official recommendations are 130mg per day but only if you live close to ground zero, so we will not need this high amount of Iodine.</p>
<p>Since Iodine taken in high amounts <strong>can be dangerous</strong>, it is <strong>not</strong> advised that you take it right now but wait until we know more about the situation.</p>

<p>You are probably aware that there was a big run on Potassium Iodide tablets in the U.S. and it is pretty much sold out everywhere.</p>
<p>I just called up Standard Process, the supplement company that I am working with, and <strong>I am happy to let you know that they have Iodine tablets still available.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>The product is called &#8220;Prolamine Iodine&#8221; and comes in 90 tablets. Every tablet contains 3 mg of Iodine, so one bottle contains a total of 270mg of Iodine.</p>

<p>It is also important to know that Iodine only protects you against radioactive Iodine, but not against radioactive Cesium and Plutonium, which are used in the Japanese nuclear power plant as well. However, i<strong>t is highly unlikely Plutonium will make it to the US as it is a much heavier element.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Since you need to build up your Iodine levels before being exposed to radioactivity, it is best to do this in a safe way by eating foods rich in Iodine.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>If you want to prepare, this is also a great time to stock up on foods that can help prevent radiation damage:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Cruciferous vegetables like      Cauliflower, Cabbage, Broccoli,<strong> </strong>Cabbage and Kale</li>
<li>Kelp</li>
<li>Seaweed</li>
<li>Miso soup</li>
<li>Chlorophyll containing food      like Chlorella</li>
<li>Foods high in fiber</li>
<li>Antioxidant rich food like Acai      and Blueberries, Vitamin A and C</li>
<li>Omega 3 Fatty Acids</li>
<li>Kombucha Tea</li>
<li>Coconut Products </li>

<p>In case you want to prepare even more, I advise you to get duct tape to seal up your apartment, surgical masks to protect you from inhaling radioactive dust particles and to stock up on water and foods that will last for about 2 weeks. Everyone living in an earthquake area should have these items at home as part of an earthquake kit.</p>
<p>If the worst case happens and if we get a high amount of radioactivity here, it is best to stay indoors and seal up your apartment. From the Chernobyl disaster we learned that people who tried leaving the area when radiation was the highest were poisoned the most. So stay indoors and wait until the worst has passed.</p>
<p>Again, I do not believe this will happen, but I just wanted to inform you so that you can stay on top of things.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of the most common complaints I hear in my practice is anxiety. That nagging feeling of unease and fear that might be directed towards something or someone, or might just be there for no obvious reason.<span id="more-1141"></span></p>
<p>This feeling can be very debilitating, and the coping mechanisms range from staying at home, because the outside world seems too frightening and scary, to drinking alcohol or taking anti-anxiety drugs. These drugs can be helpful in the short term, but never treat the root cause of the problem. They mask the feeling but are never the answer. When the medication is stopped, the feeling of anxiety returns, often stronger than before.</p>
<p>When a client first comes in with anxiety, I ask how strong it is felt on a scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being a full blown panic attack and 0 meaning no anxiety. It is amazing how many people report living with a constant level of anxiety of about 7 to 8.</p>
<p>What might be new for you is that <strong>anxiety can be healed through an energetic treatment</strong>, when we  find out<strong> WHY </strong>you have this problem in the first place.</p>
<p><strong>From an energetic perspective, anxiety is a disorganization of the vital energy that runs in your body.</strong> It is misaligned and thus causes the symptoms.</p>
<p>When anxiety hits, the energy that runs through your meridians (energy lines) and chakras (energy centers) goes haywire.  Most of the energy will move upward, which creates a “spaced out” and “foggy” feeling. A big part of the energy shoots up into the heart chakra, which produces heavy breathing and heart palpitations. The right and left part of the brain become unbalanced and thinking clearly becomes almost impossible.</p>
<p><strong>Since anxiety is caused by disorganized energy, it can be healed through properly aligning the energy again.</strong></p>
<p>When I start the healing session, I first look into the energy body to find out how the energy looks like in the client.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">A typical energetic reading of someone who suffers from anxiety looks as follows:</span></p>
<p>The Aura, which is the energetic field around the body that gives a sense of protection, is usually very thin. This goes hand in hand with a feeling of being vulnerable. The outside world is perceived as a hostile place and someone with an Aura like this can not really relax, their nervous system is constantly “on guard”. They constantly feel “attacked” and feel the need to defense and protect themselves.</p>
<p>Next, I look into the main energy centers of the body, which are also called “the chakra system”. Every chakra is an energetic center of it’s own and supplies energy to different parts of the body. But the charkas also function like little software discs. They store all the information of everything that ever happened to you.</p>
<p>You might have had a frightening experience that was long time ago, but the energetic information of that shock is still held in the chakra. This energy informs the body today and thus leads to anxiety.</p>
<p>This is the reason why talk therapy will not remove the unwanted feelings, because it never addresses the underlying energy. It will help you understand yourself better, but the troublesome feelings often remain.</p>
<p>Most people with anxiety are also very “psychic”, which means that they can pick up on others people thoughts effortlessly and often, part of their anxiety stems from the fact that they are picking up on other people&#8217;s anxiety!</p>
<p>Most times, the root chakra, which is the energy center at the bottom of the spine that connects you energetically to the ground, is very unbalanced. This leads to a “spaced out” feeling.</p>
<p>Once I have done a thorough analysis of the energy centers, I move on to finding the root cause of the anxiety.</p>
<p>The so-called root cause is the energy with which the cycle of anxiety started. It can stem from a traumatic event that is still held in place in the energy centers of the body. Most often, this event can stem from childhood, your adult life,  but also from your birth and the time you were in the womb. If your mother had anxiety when she was pregnant with you, chances are high that you too will experience anxiety at some point in your life. This is because the embryo or fetus is directly connected to the mother, not only physically, but emotionally as well.</p>
<p>Once we have found the true cause of the anxiety, we release this energetic information from your system and replace it with life affirming and calming energy. When this is done, the energy can re-align and the healing  occurs.</p>
<p>When appropriate, I also<strong> teach clients a simple hands-on technique</strong> that they can do when they experience anxiety to temporarily re-align the energy and lessen the symptoms.</p>
<p>After a successful treatment, many people report feeling more grounded and safe in their bodies. The world-view changes from “a hostile” place to “a friendly place”. The quality of life improves dramatically and with a new sensed feeling of independence, strength and self-confidence, many  people refer to the treatment as  “getting their life back”.</p>

How to prepare for the healing:</strong></p>
<p>A  few minutes before the appointed time, set your intention for the   healing. This can include anything from a physical, emotional, or   financial healing.<span id="more-1127"></span></p>
<p>Tune in with your body and let it know that it  will receive healing  energy. Ask it to be open and receptive to the  healing. Then just relax  and notice what is going on in your body. It is  also good to uncross  both arms and legs so the energy can flow freely  through you.</p>
<p>Ideally, you  want to lie down, and just rest.</p>
<p>Most  people can feel the healing energy. This might be felt as a  tingling  sensation  in the body, a feeling of warmth, an opening of the  heart center or deep  relaxation. Don&#8217;t worry about what you feel. Just  trust that the  healing is taking place.<br />

Important!</strong></p>
<p>The healing will work best  if you &#8220;tune&#8221; in to the healing stream,  which means setting your  intention and then relax. If you are busy  during the time of the  healing, it will still work, but the effects  might be less, so it is  important to make time for yourself.</p>
<p>After 30 minutes check back  with  yourself and notice the  difference. For most people the healing is  instantaneous, for others it  might take a few days.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many millions of Americans experience a change in mood during the Winter times: Seasonal affective Disorder or SAD affects around 3% of the population.</p>
<p>Lack of sunlight can trigger a change in mood and behavior and people who work long hours indoors are most affected.<span id="more-1009"></span></p>
<p>Symptoms of SAD are:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Feeling always tiered</strong></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Craving of carbohydrate rich food like bread, past, chocolate and rice.</strong></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Lack of motivation</strong></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>A desire to be alone</strong></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Weight gain.</strong></li>
</ul>
<p><em>But it doesn’t need to be like that!</em></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">There are lot’s of things that you can do to effectively beat the blues:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Exercise</strong> is known to be a mood booster.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Try<strong> to get outside</strong> as much as possible. Even when it is cloudy, there is more light outside then inside.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Get a good source of<strong> Omega 3 Fatty acids</strong>: Beneficial fats that are commonly found in fatty fish like Tuna and Krill Oil. These fats have been clinically shown to improve mood.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>5-HTP</strong>: A precursor to Serotonin, the “happy hormone:. It is a supplement that you can get at any health store and it will give your body everything it needs to “assemble” Serotonin for you. I recommend  a dosage of 100mg in the morning, and 100mg in the evening.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Get plenty of sleep</strong></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Get out and <strong>meet your friends</strong>. Isolating yourself will only make it worse.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Light therapy</strong>: One very effective thing you can do is to get a special lamp designed to help with SAD. It has very bright full spectrum light and simulates natural sunlight in your home.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Relax</strong>, do something for yourself and get a good massage.</li>
</ul>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">Take a good <span style="color: #990000; font-weight: bold;">Probiotic</span>, that keeps your intestines healthy. Remember that 80% of the entire immune system is located in the gut!</span><span style="font-size: small;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: #990000;">Get plenty of sleep</span>.</span> Make sure the room you are sleeping in is completely dark. This is extremely important for your body to produce just the right amount of Melatonin, a hormone that regulates many bodily functions and that will only be produced when it&#8217;s dark. Even tiny amounts of light can upset the production of Melatonin. When your body is producing enough Melatonin, you will wake up the next morning refreshed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: #990000;">Exercise</span>. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Eat plenty of fresh <span style="font-weight: bold; color: #990000;">organic fruits and vegetables</span>.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Try to<span style="font-weight: bold;"> <span style="color: #990000;">avoid sugar</span></span> as much as possible. Every time you eat sugar, your immune system takes a nose dive. (Take fresh Ginger and put it into a blender. Add fresh lemon juice and Agave syrup, blend. Add to hot water and pour before drinking over a sieve.</span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many people do falsely believe that soy (in it’s unfermented form )is healthy. This is due to the fact that the soy industry has promoted “foods” like soy milk and tofu as healthy, claiming that it is good for your heart.</p>
<p>The truth is, that Americans consume way too much soy per day.</p>
<p>One of the reason’s soy is not healthy is the fact that it negatively affects the proper absorption of minerals- mainly iodine, <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-968" title="Soybeans" src="http://drkatharina.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Soybeans-200x250.jpg" alt="Soybeans" width="200" height="250" />calcium, iron, and zinc. Many researches have linked the excess consumption of soy to hypothyroidism..</p>
<p>If you suffer from an under active thyroid-try cutting out all soy products for at least 3 months and feel for yourself what a difference it can make.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">So what about Asian people who eat a lot of soy?</span></p>
<p>It is true that in Asia people consume soy and they to do fine with it.</p>
<p>The reason Asians benefit from soy is that they eat their soy with mineral rich sea vegetables containing plenty of iodine and zinc. They also do not consume such large quantities of it as we do. Another difference is that they eat most of their soy in fermented form.</p>
<p><span id="more-967"></span></p>
<p>Fermentation is a process that involves a slow chemical change triggered by bacteria, molds, or yeast.  This process eliminates soy&#8217;s problems by making it more digestible and deactivating potentially harmful substances.</p>
<p>To summarize it:</p>
<p><strong>Avoid: Soy milk, tofu,  texturized soy protein, and soy protein isolate</strong></p>
<p><strong>Eat in moderation: Miso soup, natto, shoyu, tamari and tempeh.</strong></p>
<p>If you want to be on the safe side, consider also<span style="text-decoration: underline;"> supplementing your diet with minerals.</span><br />
